Roof Replacement in Kinston, NC – Owens Corning Duration® Shingles in Onyx Black

CoreyCo Roofing Services recently completed a full roof replacement on this home in Kinston, North Carolina. The previous roof had protected the home for nearly 30 years and had reached the end of its service life, making it time for a complete system upgrade.

After removing the existing roofing down to the wood deck, our team inspected the structure and identified several common issues that can lead to leaks over time. Deteriorated roof sheathing was found around a satellite dish mount, which is why we typically recommend avoiding mounting satellite dishes directly to the roof whenever possible.

We also discovered failed standard pipe flashings, which commonly crack and deteriorate after years of exposure. To prevent future problems, we installed Lifetime Ultimate Pipe Flashings designed to remain watertight for the life of the roof.

Additionally, the existing thin galvanized flashing showed significant corrosion and some areas had improperly installed step flashing. To correct this, we replaced all step flashing and endwall flashing with durable 26-gauge black galvalume flashing for improved longevity and a clean finished look.

The home is now protected with Owens Corning Duration shingles in the classic Onyx Black shingles color from Owens Corning, providing both lasting protection and enhanced curb appeal.
